Live in each season as it passes; breathe the air,
drink the drink, taste the fruit and resign
yourself to the influence of the earth.

Story:
There was something to be said about being born a Lyons. A poise and grace that came with that birth, and an influence on those around you that you seemed to come by naturally. Or at least it was so for the delicate babe that came squalling into the earth a full minute and a half before she was chased by the brother who would always be chasing after her even through to their adulthood. Sybilla had known the earth was hers, and what grew from it, from an early age. Playing at creating flowers out of thin air, and turning damaged grass to brilliant green once again. The earth, it's soil, it's plants and it's treasures called to her. She could hear what was buried in the soil, in the dirt, in the sand. And had an uncanny knack for uncovering what was buried deep within the nature.
Paired with a love of history and lore, it was more than natural when at a young age she knew she wanted to put both of those things to good use. She studied, too hard and too much, nearly forgoing her childhood -- unless it was forcing her brother and her cousins into playing archaeologist; begging her father to bury something deep in the back yard of their sprawling Oxford home, so that the four of them could dig it up and salvage the site. But it all that hard word and determination paid off, when at just fifteen she was enrolling into university, and graduating, with honors only three years later. She did her graduate education abroad, with her fingers deep in the dirt of ancient lands, and exposing the secrets of lives long past and their way of living.
But she could never forget who she really was. Witch. The treasures that Sibby sought were not the pottery of a Pompeian household, but the tools used by the seer who'd failed to properly predict the cities destruction. She didn't dig for dinosaur bones in Syria, but for the bones of the astronomers who gave council to the tribal leaders there. She was after legends of the arcane, pieces of the occult thought lost, and learning more than she could behind a desk, even if the windows opened up to the pretty green in the middle of Shepherds campus. She was after the adventure that came from thrilling heights climbed to the tops of towers, and stepping into booby-trapped caves. She was always a bit disappointed when finding something went too well, and didn't end with being chased by something not of this earth.
Oddly enough, she ended up back at SU anyway. Called home by the Elder of her family, by the one who had set their precedence long ago, Sybilla finds herself these days on campus again. No longer a student, but an active member of the faculty and doing exactly what she was meant to all along. Hunting. Gathering. Piecing together the puzzles left on this side of the Veil, not just for the good of the Headmaster and his goals for the university -- but as the Keeper for their family, as well. Learning more about them now, than she could have ever thought possible.
Sybilla is a gentle, earthly creature., who enjoys spending time out of doors just as much as she does surrounded by the history of their supernatural kind. Some might even say she was a quiet, lovely and reserved woman of the utmost breeding. Until you get to know her. Then you'll find she'd rather quite determined, and a bit competitive. Wickedly intelligent, with a sharp tongue and uncanny knack for remembering the oddest things at even more odd times. There's little she fears, and will rush headfirst into dangerous escapades to get what she wants. There's a warrior's spirit wrapped up in a pint sized punch.
She is close to and protective of her family and dreads the day when the curse set upon their family so long ago will take away the one she loves the most, or will leave him without his better half too. So far, they've lasted longer than most of the pairs, and that is largely due to the fact that both are so immersed in their work -- her brother remains in Oxford, preferring his own company and their family home, where he builds the most gorgeous furniture out of the best wood the UK has to over, and even beyond -- called to it by his gifts, and his ability to charm the trees into offering themselves to his secondary craft.
