This story focuses on six large, long-standing and influential English families of witches and wizards. These families came together during England's early 17th century witch trials and executions to establish a presence called the Council that would keep an ear to the ground and protect witches from fear's bloodlust. As the Council grew with generations, their mission grew to include oversight of supernatural activity all over the country in the interest of maintaining balance and ensuring the continued strength and secrecy of the Veil, which is what they call the illusion that their ancestors created in order to keep the supernatural and mankind from destroying each other.
