Story: Aryanna Storm had been a member of the Pops Symphony Orchestra, when she had been given the chance to go to London, and play for nobility, and even royalty! That was where she had met with Alistair Byrne. It was a whirlwind from there, of romance and passion that had left the poor young girl flying home with more of a souvenir than she had honestly been aware of. Nine months later, while the skies dumped snow upon the narrow streets of Boston, she gave birth Derrick, and vowed to raise him on her own, since her parting from Alistair had been much less than friendly.
Derrick Storm grew up with a single mother, who while sought after by many a man, seemed only interested in her music, after what had happened with her tryst in London. Derrick learned from an early age to play a number of instruments, practicing more for fun, than by any will of his mothers. However, when he turned eight, or nine years old, he found a love for other things. Enrolled in judo, pop warner, and little league, Derrick found himself with a love of overcoming adversity through singular activity, or through team effort. So it was that over the years, he played for his high school teams, and continued with martial arts in his free time... until he started getting in trouble.
Derrick fell in with some people in Boston that were not necessarily interested with the laws of their peers. So after a few fun times on the wild side, it was Derrick who was left holding the bag, when his alleged friends dipped out suddenly on him. Derrick was given a choice by the judge, having come to be of age while all of this occurred, and when he graduated he enlisted in the United States Army. From there his life turned for the weird ...
While serving overseas in Afghanistan, Derrick was put through a number of more grueling incidents that ended in rather awkward ways. Bullets shot from a distance, seemed to just veer off course around him, and strike into the ground, or those to either side of him. When he was angry, or lost his temper, things seemed to get tossed about with the simplest of gestures ... and he could smell enemies on the wind, long before he should have been able to. Even though he had been forced into enlisting, Derrick found himself loving the army. It gave him a family, a cause even, that he had never in his life had.
So over the better part of a decade, Derrick went through a number of training, and authorizations to better himself. Always pushing forward, and bettering himself. It was while he was contemplating renewing his enlistment, that he got word from home about his mothers cancer. That made the decision for him, and he returned home as quickly as he was able. It was just in time, and he was able to spend the last month of her life with the only blood relation he knew of.
It was in that month, and while she slipped away from him, that Derrick learned about Alistair Byrne. The man who had given his mother the best gift she could've ever asked for, according to her. So when she died, Derrick did the only logical thing. Letting the majority of his mothers worldly possessions be sold off, and taking himself across the Atlantic to try and find the father that he had only just recently learned existed. London, was new to him, but Derrick would take it like the coming storm he was, and he'd figure out whether or not this was going to be worth the trouble... because he had questions ...
