ELEMENT: wind Elder Byrne's haphazardly plotted bloodline was forged in Scotland, where -- and he likes to tell the story -- some long ago and far away ancestor of his once found himself in the very unique position of being owed a debt by an unseelie fae. Or perhaps he and the fae were old friends. Or perhaps they were lovers. Perhaps the fae was male, or female, or all-gendered, or a-gendered. Perhaps the story is a comedy of errors, perhaps it's a romance, perhaps it's a tragedy. And perhaps this happened, and perhaps that happened, and perhaps old Alistair never tells the same version of it twice. Some think that a life spent in London with his head full of music, his belly full of brandy and his bed full of all manner of lovers has addled his mind. Some think he's hiding something. All of the five offspring that resulted from his indiscretions have surfaced in the city, but none of them have yet been Chosen. With the help of some of the other Elders, he searches for the why of it, determined to secure his family name's position on the Council for generations to come, somehow.
